Quality Appliance Services - frequently asked questions

Question 1

How quickly can you come out for an appliance repair?

Accepted Answer

Most service calls across the Wasatch Front are scheduled within one to two business days, and same-day slots are often available for a refrigerator or freezer that has stopped cooling, since that is the failure where waiting costs you the contents.

Question 2

Do you repair high-end and imported appliances?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Sub-Zero, Wolf, Thermador, Miele, Gaggenau, Bertazzoni, Asko, ILVE, Lacanche and Hestan are all brands we service regularly. Those units need brand-specific parts and diagnostics rather than generic replacements, which is why a general handyman often cannot finish the job.

Question 3

Is there a diagnostic fee, and is it applied to the repair?

Accepted Answer

There is a standard diagnostic charge for the visit, and it is credited toward the cost of the work if you go ahead with the repair. You are told the full repair price before any work begins, not after.

Question 4

Is it worth repairing an appliance or should I replace it?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the age of the unit, the cost of the part, and whether the failure is a wear item or a major component. We will tell you plainly when a repair does not make financial sense - particularly on an older budget unit where a control board costs a large share of a new machine.

Question 5

Do you use genuine manufacturer parts?

Accepted Answer

Yes, factory-authorised parts wherever the brand supplies them. On premium and imported appliances that matters more than it does on mass-market units, because tolerances and control electronics are not interchangeable.

Question 6

Which areas do you serve?

Accepted Answer

Salt Lake, Utah, Davis, Weber, Summit, Wasatch, Tooele and Morgan counties, covering the Wasatch Front and the surrounding communities.

Question 7

Do you offer a warranty on repairs?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Both the parts fitted and the labour are warrantied. The exact term depends on the component, and it is confirmed in writing on your invoice rather than left vague.

Question 8

My refrigerator is not cooling but the light works. What does that mean?

Accepted Answer

Power is reaching the unit, so the fault is in the sealed system, the compressor, the condenser fan, the defrost system, or a control board rather than the supply. Before calling, check the condenser coils are not choked with dust and that the vents inside are not blocked by packed food - those two account for a fair share of call-outs.
